Sewag describes More players will come out against DDCA

Gautam Gambhir and Ishant Sharma sided with him in his battle against Delhi cricket administrators, star batsman Virender Sehwag on Tuesday said more players will follow suit. "More will come out," said Sehwag, who is currently here undergoing rehabilitation for his injured shoulder.
The swashbuckling batsman would first discuss the "issue" with the Delhi and District Cricket Association President Arun Jaitley before airing his views in the media, a source said. The players are unhappy with the DDCA Sports Committee which, they claimed, interfered in selection matters and also indulged in corruption.
The DDCA has said Sehwag's outburst was a pressure tactic to include his cousin Mayank Tehlan in Delhi Ranji team even though the India opener has dismissed the charge.

Haryana Cricket Association has already invited Sehwag to play for the state

Big vaccine race in Indian pharma

In early August, Novartis and Sanofi Aventis began the first human tests of their swine flu vaccines. In India, the race is between three Indian biotech companies.

The Pune-based Serum Institute of India seems best placed. It was already working on a vaccine for seasonal flu. Serum Institute's products are exported to over 140 countries, and the company claims that one out of every two children immunised in the world has received a Serum Institute vaccine.

The other two companies are Panacea Biotech and Bharat Biotech. Delhi-based Panacea is a WHO pre-qualified supplier of a range of vaccines and has collaborations with international institutes. Its working on vaccines for anthrax, dengue, and Japanese encephalitis.

Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech launched India's first indigenous pentavalent (five-in-one) 'Comvac-5' vaccine in March this year. What's unique about the vaccine is that it is the only Hepatitis B vaccine in the world to be manufactured without the use of cesium chloride, a heavy metal needed to precipitate proteins. As a heavy metal, cesium chloride is a known cancer causing agent and the fact that Bharat Biotech found another safer way to purify its hepatitis-B antigen makes Comvac-5 even more special.

There's a fourth company, Ahmedabad-based Cadila Pharma, which is collaborating with US-based Novavax, using Novavax's 'virus-like particles' technology. This technology cuts short manufacturing time.

The buzz is that one company has already managed to grow the cell line, and is now engaged in scaling up production, a tricky operation, given the myriad variables in biologics manufacture. Today, we have to depend on imported vaccines to vaccinate health workers from swine flu. We pay handsomely to procure this vaccine. Countries that produce the vaccine use it domestically first.

Given this, it is crucial that an Indian pharma company develops a vaccine. May the best company win. And whoever wins, Indians are winners.

Just a thought

A blind boy sat in the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign, which said, “I am blind, please help.”There were only a few coins in the hat. A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into hat. He then the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words. Soon the hat began to get filled. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, “Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?”

The man said, “I only wrote the truth. I said what you said, but in a different way. I wrote, ‘today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it.”
There are at least two lessons we can learn from this simple story. The first is: Be thankful for what you have. Someone else has less. The second is: be creative. Be innovative. Think differently.
THERE IS ALWAYS A BETTER WAY!

Just for laugh

Little Johnny and his family seldom had guests. Today, he was eager to help his mother after his father appeared with two dinner guests from the office. When the dinner was nearly over, Little Johnny went to the kitchen and proudly carried in the first piece of apple pie, giving it to his father who passed it to a guest. Little Johnny came in with a second piece of pie and gave it to his father, who again gave it to the other guests.
This was too much for little Johnny, who said, “it’s no use, dad. The pieces are all the same size.”

Just a thought

A man noticed a boy drowning. It was evident that the boy did not know swimming. The man dived into the lake. In moments, he caught the boy by his hair and pulled him back to the shore. By then the boy had swallowed a lot of water. The man extended the first aid he knew and the boy started breathing again. Knowing that the boy had been saved, the man moved on…Almost as if he had done nothing. The man would have hardly walked a few steps when he sensed someone holding his legs tight…it was the boy he had just rescued. Holding the legs of the man, the boy said,”Thank you for saving my life.” The man smiled at the boy with a lot of affection, held him by his shoulders and said, “My son, it is okay about your thank you, but please make the life I saved worth living.”

Just for Laughs

A junior manager, a senior manager and their boss were on the way to a meeting. On their way through a park, they came across a wonder lamp. They rubbed the lamp and a genie appeared. The genie said, “Normally, one is granted three wishes but as you are three, I will allow one wish each.” So the eager senior manager shouted, “I want the first wish. I want to be in Bahamas, on a fast boat and have no worries.” Pfufffff! He was gone. Now the junior manager could not keep quiet and shouted, “I want to be in Florida with beautiful girls, plenty of food and cocktails.” Pfufffff! And he was also gone. The boss calmly said, “In times of such recession we cannot afford such pleasures. So I want both the guys back in the office after lunch at 12.35 p.m.”

MORAL OF THE STORY: “always allow the boss to speak first.”

Paint your roofs white to slow global warming, says Obama's energy adviser

US President Barrack Obama's energy adviser has suggested that as part of efforts to slow global warming, all the world's roofs should be painted white.

According to a report in the Telegraph, Professor Steven Chu, the US Energy Secretary, said that the unusual proposal would mean homes in hot countries would save energy and money on air conditioning by deflecting the sun's rays.

More pale surfaces could also slow global warming by reflecting heat into space rather than allowing it to be absorbed by dark surfaces where it is trapped by greenhouse gases and increases temperatures.

The Professor described climate change as a "crisis situation", and called for a whole host of measures to be introduced, from promoting energy efficiency to renewable energy such as wind, wave and solar.

The Nobel Prize-winning physicist said the US was not considering any large scale "geo-engineering" projects where science is used to reverse global warming, but was in favour of "white roofs everywhere".

He said that lightening roofs and roads in urban environments would offset the global warming effects of all the cars in the world for 11 years.

"If you look at all the buildings and if you make the roofs white and if you make the pavement more of a concrete type of colour rather than a black type of colour and if you do that uniformally, that would be the equivalent of reducing the carbon emissions due to all the cars in the world by 11 years - just taking them off the road for 11 years," he said.

BSNL Providing Free Incoming Video Calls for 3 Months

You must be aware that, as of now BSNL have started 3G services in many parts of the country, using which you can make and receive video calls, download data at a high speed and also browse the internet flawlessly.

As such, to promote the newly launched product, BSNL have recently announced that, all its 2G customers having 3G supported handsets can use “Video incoming call” feature for free for a period of 3 months.

Well, we appreciate this new scheme initiated by BSNL, but did you realize the business model of this plan? Simple, every user cannot just use video calls feature for free (as just incoming is free) so, BSNL is trying to make some money by the outgoing calls made by the other party.

Hrithik Roshan to endorse Reliance Mobile

After having endorsed many FMCG products, superstar Hrithik Roshan will now be seen as the Brand Ambassador of Reliance Mobile. According to our most reliable sources, the Krissh superstar will henceforth be the face of the Reliance's mobile, data and DTH businesses and that the promotional campaign for the same is being extensively shot in Bangkok.

News also has it that Hrithik will be shooting for around 8 TVCs for the same all centering around the theme of the ad campaign 'Just pick up the phone, don't wait...go for it'. Even though we, at Bollywood Hungama are not astrologers, but we can surely 'predict' that the sales of Reliance Mobiles are bound to shoot up like a rocket. And need we still tell you the reason?

PINTU - GOVERNANCE SYSTEM

As a daily habit Pintu was reading newspaper.

Suddenly he asked his father, " Dad! What does it mean by 'Governance System' ? "

"It's like..." father said while thinking, "See! I earn and bring money to home, mean's I am a 'Money Holder'. Your mother decides where and how to spend that money and that means she is 'Government'. That maid in our home is doing all the household works, so she will be 'Labour Class'. You are a 'Common man' or 'Public'. Your kid brother is 'Future' or the 'Next
Generation', understand?".

That day Pintu slept with all those thoughts. In the middle of the night he woke-up because his kid brother was crying. He wetted the matrices so he was crying. Pintu went to woke-up his mother. She was in deep sleep so Pintu went to the Maiden's room to wake her up. But there his father was sleeping with the maid. So he came back with frustration.

HYBRID ANIMALS

The Golden Pheasant has commonly been crossed with the similar Lady Amherst's Pheasant. The result is a hybrid with distinguished colors from its parents.

HYBRID ANIMALS

What do you get when you cross a cow with a buffalo? The Beefalo, a hybrid animal that produces red meat lower in fat and cholesterol than beef. Most consumers have never heard of beefalo, let alone tasted it, and only a few Seattle grocery stores carry it.

HYBRID ANIMALS

The liger is a hybrid cross between a male Panthera leo (lion), and a female Panthera tigris (Tiger) and is denoted scientifically as Panthera tigris × Panthera leo. A liger resembles a giant lion with diffused stripes. They are the largest cats in the world, although the Siberian Tiger is the largest pure sub-species. Like tigers, but unlike lions, ligers enjoy swimming. A similar hybrid, the offspring of a male tiger and a female lion is called a tigon.

HYBRID ANIMALS

A zebroid (also zebra mule and zebrule) is the offspring of any cross between
a zebra and any other equine: essentially, a zebra hybrid. In most cases, the sire is a zebra stallion. Offspring of a donkey sire and zebra mare, called a zebra hinny, do exist but are rare. Zebroids have been bred since the 19th century. The zebroid showed in the picture above, Eclyse, is a very unusual one, because of her coloring. With her über distinct makings, it's really hard not think she's a Photoshop mock-up.
